About Fanlistings

You may be wondering just exactly what a fanlisting is. The Fanlistings are the brainchild of Janine, who made the original fanlisting to bring together and list fans of her favorite TV show, Buffy the Vampire Slayer. From there the idea took on a life of its own. If you can think of a topic, chances are there is a fanlisting for it or one in the works. This is the definition of a fanlisting from  the fanlistings website: "A fanlisting is simply an online list of fans of a subject, such as a TV show, actor, or musician, that is created by an individual and open for fans from around the world to join."

This fanlisting is for adopted and rescued cats & kittens, obviously. :-)

Why a Fanlisting for Adopted Cats?

You're probably wondering why on earth I started a fanlisting for adopted and rescued cats and kittens. It's a somewhat vague subject, not clear-cut like a fanlisting for a specific actor or song or TV show. Simply put, I made this fanlisting because adopting and rescuing cats and kittens is a subject I strongly believe in. I know there are many other people out there just like me who really do care for all of the unwanted and unloved cats and kittens in the world. I started this site as a way to bring together all of those people. But besides being just a fanlisting, I hope I can make it much more in the future. This site also exists to provide helpful information on adopting and rescuing cats, and to help raise awareness of adoption and rescue organizations around the world.

I volunteer for a wpnderful local no-kill cat shelter called Challenger's House. (I hope to finish a website for them soon!) My husband and I have adopted 8 cats and kittens from a couple of local rescue organizations -- Emma, Karma, Boo, Tweeter, Beau, Gracie, Hannah, and Serah. We also rescued Jaspurr, a cat we found wandering around the neighborhood. Jaspurr went to the Rainbow Bridge in August, 2004.

Meet My Babies!

Soon my kitties are going to have their own website. But for now, here are some pictures of the homeless cats that now make their forever home at our house.
